HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACHEL (tang)!! (:

once again, appologies.. lol. x) haven been bloging for quite some time..
Quite a few events had passed.. One of which is guides camp! (: in short, it was enjoyable.. There was also this first aid course..which was rather fun and educational.. lol.. hmm seems quite backdated to talk about it now :)

Today was my first day of working( or rather observing). In case you don't know, i'm under the work attachment programme for this june holidays. lol..There were six of us in total- Grace, Serene, Celine, Sabrina, Jessie & me! haha
We reported at 12 plus, along with Mrs Ong. Upon reaching there, Gelang east polyclinic was much bigger than i expected. i thought it would be a small unit like my family clinic, but it turned out to be 4 stories and 10 times bigger than that clinic i mentioned.. lol. wow.
We met Dr Shah and he gave us a brief introduction of this programme and took us to various places of the polyclinic to begin with..

Basically, we were divided into 3 groups. Serene and I were in the same group =P
Our first stop was diabetic foot screening room where we observed how the doctors performed their duties. This is the place where diabetic patients come and do their foot screening. There was a nurse in training consulting the patient about the dos and don'ts.. For instance, one who has diabeties should not submerge their legs in extreme hot water as their leg's response are slow and the skin might just come off. The patient should always be wearing footwear whether she's home or out..

After twenty mintues, we had a change of rooms. My second stop was the eye screening for diabetics.
Serene got her eye checked by me! haha.. The doctor described it as playing a video game. lol.The eye machine screened into the pupil, then the smaller pupil till there was a tiny white dot. All i had to do was to shift the white dot using the 'controller' to the centre of the machine screen, then press the button. There was a bright white flash and serene eye got captured into the computer on standby.. Its quite faniscating. (:

Last stop was the some health counselor where the doctor consult/ advices the patients about their diet..
After this, we proceeded to the pharmacy. lol. First time in my life did i see so much medicine! the medicine were all packed in carton boxes, some on the shelves.. lol. The pharmacist explained and showed us where they kept their medicine.. and so on..
At four, the programme ended.. and we alll headed homme x)
so actually, none of us literally worked.. lol. its more of observing!
going back tomorrow! (:

mum,dad & brother are flying to shang hai later today. I didn't join them due to some school activities :(
i'd miss the noise and laughter my brother makes.. lol! imagine 12 whole days without them! i will miss them for sure.
yay sarah gona keep me company! (:

guess what! chang sheng was from the same kindergarden as me.. what a surprise! lol
